February 25th&26th Review

Hello and welcome to the Globall February 24th review - your daily breakdown of the biggest stories, results and standout performers from women’s international football πŸ’ͺ

COSAFA CUP

Mozambique πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ώ 2-0 Madagascar πŸ‡²πŸ‡¬

This game would have only had any relevance if Madagascar had won, as they would snatch first spot from Namibia - however, a 30th minute penalty from Amelia Banze of Matchedje de Maputo, a club from the capital of Mozambique and a 69th minute goal from Cina Manuel of UD Lichinga, also from the Mozambique league, destined Madagascar to Mozambiques already confirmed fate. This marks the first time Mozambique has failed to qualify from the group since 2022, having qualified for two in a row. Namibia, however, managed to qualify from the group for the first time since 2022, opposing Mozambique in failing in the previous two editions of the tournament.

This sets up the second semi-final on the 27th, Namibia against Zambia - Zambia entering as favourites.

There are no games tomorrow, however I will be back on the 27th to give you the first world cup qualifying results of this international window, with the OFC second round kicking off and both COSAFA Cup semi-finals
